Shift Requests - 203
Shift Requests provide a collaborative tool for employees to communicate their scheduling requests to their managers.
- A limited number of Shift Templates are set to be available for employee request processes. These Shift Templates are normally configured to be absence, unavailable, or working type shifts.
- After Shift Requests are submitted, they cannot be edited by the employee. However, the employee can cancel the request if it is in Submitted status.
- Employees and managers will be alerted of status changes via email notifications.
- Shift Requests will automatically generate the employee’s shift with a status linked to the request status.

Submitted Shift Requests are reviewed and processed by different Request Statuses.
Shift Request Statuses
- Draft: The request is not visible to Managers and is editable until submitted.
- Submitted: The request is submitted for review and cannot be modified by the requester.
- Alternative: Instead of approving a submitted Shift Request, Managers have the option to create a new Shift Request with Alternative dates for the requester.
- Tentative: The request has been tentatively approved but not finalized.
- Approved: The request has been approved and the requested shifts have been scheduled.
- Cancelled: The request has been cancelled by the Manager or Planner.
- Denied: The request has been reviewed and denied.
An Employee can only create one Shift Request per date. If a Shift Request is cancelled, the employee cannot re-select these cancelled dates.
A Manager can only process employee’s Shift Requests if they are set as an Authorizer for the Service Center. The Manager’s name needs to be in the Employees column of Service Center Details to be an Authorizer.
Managers can process the employee’s Shift Requests per Service Centers in the Manage Shift Request form.
Shift Requests will be displayed in one of the Status tabs, based on their Status.
My Shift Requests provides employees with a list of their Shift Requests.
Requests will cycle through a submitting and review process, each phase of which is defined by a Request Status.
- Drafts: The request has been saved as a draft. A draft is editable until it is submitted and is not visible to the manager.
- Submitted: The request has been submitted for review and can no longer be modified.
- Approved: The request has been reviewed by a manager, and the requested shift dates have been approved and scheduled.
- Cancelled: The request has been cancelled.
- Denied: The request has been reviewed by a manager, and the requested shift dates have been denied.
