Shift Templates - 222
Shift Templates help to efficiently schedule employees with recurring shifts. Shift Templates contain schedule events and day settings that generate the employee’s daily shifts.
*See form tooltips for additional information.
Modifying Templates
When a Shift Template is assigned to an employee day, the shift template events and settings are copied to the employee’s day settings. If the Shift Template is edited after it is copied to an employee’s day, the employee’s shift will not be affected. The only exceptions are shift template Colors and Comments. They could affect how Employee Shifts are displayed in some forms and reports.
De-Activation of a Shift Template
Shift Templates cannot be deleted – they can only be de-activated.
To disable a Shift Template, set the Shift Template Active option to Off.
When a Shift Template is applied to a previously scheduled day it will replace the previous shifts details. However, there are exceptions.
The employee’s previous shift’s Schedule Events are not removed if:
- Protected is set on the Event Type.
- Linked to a parent facility schedule event.
- Required (business requirement) is set on the shift.
